The Nanakshahi calendar is a solar-based calendar used by Sikhs worldwide. It was introduced in 1999 by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), the highest religious body of the Sikh community. The calendar is based on the teachings of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, and is designed to track important Sikh festivals and events.
The Nanakshahi calendar 2022 begins on March 14, 2022, and ends on March 13, 2023. The year is divided into 12 months, each of which has 30 days. There is also an extra day, known as the "Pooranmashi," which falls on the full moon day in the month of Chet.
