Corey Seager (born April 27, 1994) is an American professional baseball shortstop for the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball (MLB). The son of former MLB player Jeff Seager, Corey is a three-time All-Star, two-time Silver Slugger, and the 2020 World Series champion with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Seager grew up in Kannapolis, North Carolina. He attended Northwest Cabarrus High School, where he was a standout shortstop and pitcher. In 2012, he was named the Gatorade National Baseball Player of the Year.
After graduating from high school, Seager was selected by the Dodgers with the 18th overall pick in the 2012 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut in 2015 and quickly established himself as one of the league's best young players.
