Primary 1 Registration 2024 Singapore: A Comprehensive Guide

Registration Dates and Deadlines

• Phase 1 (PV1): 27 June - 2 July 2023
• Phase 1 (PV1S): 4 - 8 July 2023
• Phase 2A(1): 10 - 14 July 2023
• Phase 2A(2): 17 - 21 July 2023
• Phase 2B: 24 - 28 July 2023
• Phase 2C: 31 July - 4 August 2023
• Phase 2C (Supplementary): 7 - 11 August 2023

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for Primary 1 registration in 2024, a child must meet all the following criteria:

• Born between 2 January 2017 and 1 January 2018 (inclusive)
• Not previously enrolled in a local primary school
• Not suspended from any local primary school
• Not an international student

Registration Phases

The Primary 1 registration process is divided into several phases, each with its own eligibility criteria:

Phase 1 (PV1 and PV1S)

• For Singaporean citizens (SCs) and Permanent Residents (PRs) with children who are Singapore Citizens (SC)
• PV1: Children whose parents or siblings are registered alumni of the school
• PV1S: Children whose siblings are current students of the school

Phase 2A(1)

• For SCs and PRs with children who are SCs whose parents are registered alumni of the school
• For children with siblings who are current students of the school

Phase 2A(2)

• For SCs and PRs with children who are SCs who live within 1km of the school
• For SCs and PRs with children who are PRs who live within 1-2km of the school

Phase 2B

• For SCs and PRs with children who are SCs who live within 2km of the school
• For SCs and PRs with children who are PRs who live within 1-2km of the school

Phase 2C

• For SCs and PRs with children who are SCs
• For SCs and PRs with children who are PRs

Phase 2C (Supplementary)

• For SCs and PRs with children who are SCs or PRs who do not meet the criteria for any other phase

Registration Process

Applying Online

The preferred method of registration is online through the Primary 1 Registration System (P1RS) website: https://www.moe.gov.sg/p1

Applying in Person

Parents may also register their child in person at their preferred primary school. However, this option is only available during the registration period for Phase 2C (Supplementary).

Required Documents

Parents will need to submit the following documents during registration:

• Child's birth certificate or passport
• Child's immunization record
• Proof of address (e.g., utility bill, NRIC)
• Proof of parent's or sibling's alumni status (if applicable)

School Placement

After registration, parents will be notified of their child's school placement by 31 August 2023.

Appealing for a School

Parents may appeal for their child to be placed in a specific school if they have not been offered a place in their preferred school. Appeals can be submitted online from 2 - 9 September 2023.

Other Important Information

• The Ministry of Education (MOE) recommends that parents register their child in multiple schools to increase their chances of securing a place.
• Parents who require financial assistance may apply for the MOE Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS).
